TCVI Technical Services - Fire & Safety Services assists member First Nations in the establishment of their fire departments and fire safety services to their band members.
Fire Prevention & Safety Services include:
- Development of Safety Plans, Policies and Codes in conjunction with the National and Alberta Fire Codes.
- Training in fire and safety, and use of Band Fire Protection Equipment
- Use and maintenance of safety equipment and resources;
- Fire inspections of group homes, daycares, and other band buildings
- Development of and organize joint training courses for the Nations
- Conduct Fire investigation and prepare reports for member First Nations and their
Insurance companies
- Establish home fire and safety inspections and awareness plans.
- Fire Prevention and awareness campaigns and initiatives in conjunction with fire prevention week and other fire awareness activities {i.e. presentations on fire safety themes for schools, coordinate poster contests}
- Meet with member First Nations Fire Chiefs on a regular basis to review and update fire department operations procedures
- Coordinate a annual Fire Control Officer’s Committee Workshop
Our Fire Prevention & Safety program has provided many years of valuable expertise to our member First Nations.
